HARDCOPY PLANS TO 3D MODELS
Maximize the efficiency and accuracy of your construction projects with our specialized 3D modeling services. Our team of experts excels in converting 2D plans into highly detailed and precise 3D models, compatible with Trimble, Topcon, and Leica machine control systems.
Our 3D models are the ideal tool for construction setout, earthwork analysis, volume calculations, planning and progress reporting, and conformance reporting with redline markups. We guarantee that your design plans and data are thoroughly verified for construction readiness, and any errors or anomalies discovered during the modeling process will be brought to your attention.
Benefit from our experience and expertise in delivering accurate 3D site models that can be used in court as credible evidence, and trust us to help you streamline your construction projects for success.
BRIDGE 3D MODELS
Adoption of three-dimensional (3D) modeling for highways has been driven by cost savings, efficiencies, and lower risk in construction.
Post construction bridge 3D models assist routine inspection and asset management requirements.
Cross-functional uses of 3D models make them a primary consideration for structures.
MOTORWAY 3D MODELS
3D modeling reduces construction costs during all stages of construction from excavation, earth moving, and compacting and finishing to drainage, bridges, and other features.
Modeling offers savings through greater accuracy, efficiency, and reduced resource cost. 3D data not only enhances design through clash detection and better visual representation of the completed project prior to breaking ground, but it also can be used for such downstream applications as Machine Control.
Data Management
DATA PREP
Our focus is on transforming hardcopy plans supplied by designers from various disciplines into highly accurate and detailed 3D models. Our team of experts meticulously verifies these models to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
Design anomalies are a common challenge on construction sites, often arising from inadequate, incomplete, uncoordinated, or incorrect design information. By addressing these issues prior to construction, contractors can manage the bill of quantities and "cost to complete" effectively, reducing the risk of negative impacts on the construction timeline and program.
Our comprehensive data prep services encompass the creation or review of 3D models for earthworks, structures, stormwater, and services, as well as the detection of issues and clashes within and between models. Our team can also verify design functionality, such as water flow to gully pits, and verify bill of quantity items. Additionally, we offer mass-haul diagrams and 3D visualizations to enhance project clarity and visualization.
Our expertise also extends to the handling of large LiDar datasets, where we identify and report any issues to the contractor. With our dedicated data prep services, contractors can avoid design anomalies and ensure a smooth construction process.
3D GPS MACHINE CONTROL MODELS
Our team at Spatial Data Services Ltd specializes in providing 3D GPS machine control models for Trimble, Topcon, and Leica systems. With our state-of-the-art technology, you can enjoy the many benefits of machine control, including:
Cost savings: With machine control, you eliminate the need for survey staking prior to construction, reducing lead time and improving machinery efficiency by up to 30%.
Uniform accuracy: Machine control provides constant design reference, reducing errors and ensuring greater design conformance compared to point-to-point design reference.
Safety: By removing the need for surveyors and grade checkers on the construction site, machine control enhances safety on the job.
Design revision: Machine control eliminates the need for re-staking and updates can be easily made through a cloud-based application, sending construction-ready models directly to the machines and construction surveyors.
Trust us to provide the most efficient and reliable machine control models to ensure a smooth and successful construction process.
NB: Designer's CAD models are created for the specific purpose of outputting hardcopy plans. The designer's CAD model should never be used for an unintended purpose such as machine control.

Retaining walls
The construction and monitoring of retaining walls in New Zealand in a necessity due to our terrain and rainfall.
Modelling of designer intent against existing terrain and other existing features is imperative. Failure to model retaining walls prior to construction causes all sorts of unnecessary construction issues.
Spatial Data Services can generate models for any type of retaining wall; suitable for construction setout and machine control.
Deformation and Settlement Monitoring
Monitoring

Monitoring Manual
Sample tailored Monitoring Report
Monitoring Surveys
Settlement and ground deformation during and after construction are normal occurrences.
The purpose for monitoring and analysis of structural deformation is:
to check whether the behaviour of the investigated object and it's environment follow the predicted pattern so that any unpredicted deformations can be detected at an early stage.
in case of abnormal behavior, to describe as accurately as possible the actual deformation status that could be used for the determination of causative factors which trigger the deformation
to understand the safety risk associated with continuing works near or about the structure being monitored.
The accuracy of monitoring surveys is based on planning, instrument performance, consistency of observation procedures. For data to be meaningful "time is of the essence" - observations must be taken at scheduled observation times; so the pattern/s of movement over time can be analyzed.
We can provide advice, procedures and create tailored 1D, 2D and 3D pictorial reports.
